Construction a bit dodgy, dinged easily, but absolute magic carpet for me. Was riding the 7’0 and actually really enjoyed it as a thruster. Had enough glide to extend my rides through flat spots and with the extra wave catching ability meant more rides and longer rides which was great for progression. That glide means it goes alright in pretty tiny waves but where it really shined for me was bigger stuff, the bigger the better in my experience. Never had more fun than a few sessions on a trip at grunty waves in gizzy and mahia, and is really class on a nice long pointbreak. Unfortunately I snapped it but i fixed it up and it was still fun, but during its resurrection it must have been possesed by an evil spirit because a while later it sent me to the a&e with head injuries twice in one month. Haven’t ridden it since - it’s cursed obviously - but i miss it

I'm 115kg, 5ft11, 43yom pen pusher, and generally unfit. Has been about 23 years since I last surfed, and even then I was only a novice. With this 8 foot board, I'm consistently getting up in small waves/whitewash, and im feeling more confident each session. Just learning to turn, but seems good so far. Sturdy and enjoyable for the whole family,and friends enjoy swapping their boards and like the stability and buoyancy. The team in Auckland are awesome!
